A healthy and strong skin does not have to require that much. You can easily give your skin the glow you miss by training your facial muscles. Here you get a guide to train your face with a relaxing and firming facial massage.
Ahh – there are few things that are more relaxing and innovative than a facial massage by knowledgeable hands that gives the skin new energy and a feeling of being tightened up a bit.
It is quite rare that we allow ourselves a visit to the masseur, because it is both expensive and time consuming – and honestly feels a little too luxurious on a daily basis.
But a nice glow and a tightened skin does not have to be cumbersome, expensive or time consuming. It just requires you to spend a few minutes a day training your facial muscles through an uplifting facial massage.
Further down you will find a step by step guide for a relaxing facial massage.
Why should you train your face?
We have long known that it was beneficial to do strength training and cardio to keep body and heart healthy and fit. So why not also train the facial muscles?
The face is full of muscles that we use every day and which can get tired and tense. The skin on the face is also exposed to wind and weather and benefits from being stimulated from within.
Just a short facial massage can do wonders for your skin. A massage stimulates blood circulation in the skin and gives it a natural glow. At the same time, you will find that the skin feels renewed, tightened and de-stressed.
When and for how long should you massage?
In fact, it is both good to start and end each day with a facial massage. 2-3 minutes of massage a day will make a noticeable difference, but it is also fine to just massage for a minute.
A morning facial massage can be a great start to the day. It is a calm way to wake up and liven up the face. But even in the evening, it may be a good idea to massage the face so that your cells can spend the night regenerating and being renewed.
Which products should you massage with?
It is nice to massage with a product, as it lets the hands glide easily and comfortably over the skin. A night balm and an essential oil serum with aroma essence give just that effect and make the massage a relaxing and aromatic experience.
Decléors Lavender Fine Night Balm and Lavender Fine Aromessence are both developed for the purpose. At the same time, the products contribute to a stronger and smoother skin with more glow.
Lavender Fine Night Balm is an anti-aging conditioner that is applied to the face and neck before bedtime. It has a moisturizing and emollient effect and contains essential oils of lavender and iris, which soothe and tighten. Lavender Fine Aromessence is a natural anti-aging oil serum with essential oil from lavender and iris, which feels silky soft on the skin. It is full of antioxidants that protect the skin.
Guide: Exercise your facial muscles with a facial massage
- Warm up the selected products between your hands.
- Raise your hands up to your face and take a deep breath to let your body completely relax through the aromatherapy.
- Apply the product on the face and neck in long, soft strokes.
- Place your fingertips under your lips as if you were about to type on a computer keyboard, then press outward. Repeat the movement around the lower lip. The movements are illustrated in the video below.
- Move the fingertips up to the smile wrinkles on the right side of the nose, and repeat the movement from the step above three times. Imagine that you are “pulling” the wrinkle.
- Repeat the movements three times at the smile lines on the left side of the nose.
- Move your fingertips up the middle of the forehead and repeat the movements from before. Pull up and down three times.
- Now move your fingertips up to the right temple and repeat the movements three times.
- Repeat at left temple.
- Move your fingertips up between your eyebrows and repeat the movements three times. Pull outwards towards the eyebrows.
- Place your hands in different places on your face – on your cheeks and over your eyes – to cool your face down and relax.
