Sugaring hair has grown in popularity at a tremendous rate, as it is much more than just hair removal. Sugaring is an extremely gentle, hair-reducing and natural hair removal method suitable for all skin types. It’s a great way to take care of your skin on a monthly basis, as the sugar mass grabs not only the hair but also the dead skin cell and the dyes and chemicals that stick to the clothes. As a result, your skin becomes silky soft, looking younger and healthier! Body care products are also absorbed quickly and allow you to pamper your skin better.

How is sugaring different from waxing?

The sugar mass used in sugaring is a 100% natural product that contains virtually only sugar and water. It’s so natural that you can even eat it! Sugaring does not cause allergic reactions, is suitable for even the most sensitive complexion and leaves with water only if necessary.

The saccharification technique also differs slightly from waxing. The sugar mass is applied to the skin on the opposite hair and the removal takes place on the back hair, ie in the opposite way to waxing. However, in the direction of hair removal, sugar or wax, it is precisely the direction that has a great effect on how the hair removal feels and how the skin reacts to it. In the hair removal direction in the sugaring process, the hair slides out of the hair follicle with the sugar, so that there is little pain and skin irritation.

In which areas can hair be removed by sugaring?

From everyone! However, the most common areas of sacrifice in women are the legs, thighs, armpits, bikini line, brassi, or arms, and the hormonal hair on the upper lip and chin. For men, the most common areas are the back, chest, neckline and beard. In addition to these, however, sugaring can remove, for example, visible nose and ear hair or the hair on fingers and toes.

How do I prepare for my first sugaring?

  1. Let the hair grow in peace before the first sugaring
The hair should be at least a few millimeters long so that the sugar mass adheres to it and all the hair can be removed. Long hair rather than too short to make sure you can sugar it!
  2. Do not use moisturizer or oils before sugaring
. Preferably take a shower the night before or in the morning, do not exceptionally moisturize the skin and come to sugar with clean skin. Moisturizing products leave the skin surface slippery, which can complicate sugaring despite initial cleansing.
  3. Let your skin rest after sugaring
Book your sugaring time so that you don’t have to sweat, sunbathe or take a sauna after sugaring. Discuss home care with your confectioner.
