Since we like all kinds of lists with simple tricks to make our everyday life more carefree and stylish for the festive moments, we want to offer you the tips we have found to be good for you as well.
Here are eight style ideas for winter and the upcoming holiday season:
1. My perennial lifeguard for more festive-occasion-and-nothing-wearable situations is a white collared shirt. The favorite shirt in my closet has sharp sharp collars and oversized cuffs. My favorite way to wear a shirt right now is to create a shape by putting on a leather belt and throwing a jacket over your shoulders or pairing the shirt with super high waist pants and buttoning the buttons up all the way . -Jenna
2. My wardrobe consists mainly of simple basic clothes that are easy to combine on a daily basis and that I can imagine myself wearing for a long time. At times, those items of clothing really start to numb and I only see boring individuals in front of me. This is usually helped by the fact that I came up with a new silhouette or a way to combine clothes. At the moment, the legs of straight jeans and slightly baggy suit pants are inspired by the penetration of the width of the wide boot . My basic look of polo & jeans is suddenly much more interesting to myself again! -Jenna
3. The skin-friendly slender merino wool polo allows the use of many lighter shirts in the winter. I wear a polo in the winter, for example, under a silky collared shirt – and also often alone, when I quickly want something sharp, warm and safe. -Mary
4. The belt is my new red lipstick. Sure, the reddened lips still work, but the classic black leather belt with a simple gold-colored buckle is my new go-to outfit. When I miss the variation of my party look, I try to create a new kind of silhouette with a belt. Nice belts are plentiful when used, as long as you can dig a little. My favorite belt outfit right now:
– on my long vintage wool coat to bring shape
– black polo + black knee-length denim skirt + belt + boots = cold-resistant casual wear deluxe
– a belt at the waist of any jacket, in which case the jacket can be worn in a wrap-around style, fastened with a belt and put under a thin polo, or nothing at all. -Jenna
5. I also got Barbour’s classic wax cloth last spring at the same time I got the dog. Since then, I’ve practically lived in a jacket and started wearing it even when my dog isn’t going along. The jacket is waterproof and windproof, and the scratchy paw marks on the jacket come off conveniently with a soft brush. For the winter, I plan to get a thermal liner for my coat, as I only own two lightweight woolen jackets, which are a sheer impossibility to walk the dog in the rain and slush. At the same time, I think I can get a hood for the jacket and borrow an envelope bag from Jenna. -Mary
6. For several winters, I’ve been comfortable in monochrome outfits. Woolen fabrics and knitwear have beautiful textures that stand out differently when combined in the same shades. My favorite Sunday look for the winter is the gray pressed wool pants found at UFF, combined with merino wool knit of exactly the same shade – which is by the way from the same UFF in Taka-Töölö. -Mary
7. We have both adopted the same practical style of scarf . My own cashmere scarf and Maria’s merino wool scarf are both beautifully and heavily descending and don’t itch around the neck or electric hair. The big scarf can be used as a neck scarf, placed on the jacket like a shawl or tied to the head as a hood, so that it works well even on a party hairstyle without flattening it. On weekdays we would like to try a hat (= double heat) with a scarf tied to the head. -Jenna
8. In order for the shoes to rest between uses, return to their shape and dry properly (the insole requires drying of the foot sweat, even if the shoe is not wet), we recommend at least three different pairs of shoes in use. We both have top 3 credit winter boots, knee-high boots, leather ankle boots and all-weather low Chelsea boots. -Mary
